2022 was a year that competitors could get back to racing with restrictions on travel gone, allowing us to enjoy the sport we love with many just enjoying racing in any race that was to be had with the fantastic AORRA committee continually working in the background.
This year we made the decision to have Toby Cooper tell the stories of affiliated clubs and some members’ stories which we believe have been well received, putting the history and stories out there. It has been good to see that Rally-safe has now been received with minimal resistance across the championship, providing valuable resources for organizers.
We continue to grow our member base both of clubs, promoters, license holders, passport holders and sponsors of our sport.
This would be my 7th year with AORRA. Being there from the start with the first phone call to Bruce Robertson of AASA, from there to where we are now has been a great journey with great committee members over this time. I am confident in the future success of AORRA with the ability to listen to members and make decisions with the best interest of the sport in mind. Some decisions are difficult, not able to please all at times, but decisions are made with lots of discussion and democratically voted on by your AORRA committee.
I will now take some time away from AORRA, hoping to concentrate on racing and work and maybe just some time off. I would like to thank all that have supported me in the role.
Thank you.
Ivan Robertson
